My DIY Invitations
Posted on: 03/17/2008 06:18 PM
I was pretty happy with my invites.
I got several compliments on them (it made me blush...LOL)
I think if I could do it over...I wouldve paid to have them done.

gotta resize my photos so that I can attach my pics...lol

Ladies, I believe she is talking about the rehersal/rehersal dinner invites, which are under another post. If I'm wrong 2bmrspotts, correct me =)

Hello ladies!
It's been a while since I've posted anything here on the site.. What can I say life has it's ups and downs.. Lately for me and fh there have been more downs this year.. not in our relationship.. we are still strong there.. anyway.. I was doing some realistic number crunching and thinking..I'm going to have to try some DIY projects. Unfortunatly I am a bit creativly challenged lol.. So I'm thinking if I start trying now ..I can decide if it will cost me more to buy paper and supplies (I'm a bit mistake prone lol) or to have them made professionally. So if anyone has any idea where to start throw me your ideas.. I appreciate it :)

Well MZPrice2b, it's really up to you and your taste and your budget. I ended making my invitations and I spent wayyyy more on them than the ones I originally planned to buy. I'll post a pic of them when I figure out how to do it.

I had pink and chocolate metallic invitations. The backing was the chocolate and the actual invitation printing was on the pink sheet attached to the chocolate one. Then I had a rhinestone buckle with a pink ribbon and a chocolate ribbon weaved threw the buckle towards the bottom of the invitation. On top of that, I had pink metallic reception cards and pink metallic note cards for the RSVP cards (both had dark brown printing). I also had the pink metallic invitation envelopes and pink metallic response envelopes.

So, with ordering the specialty paper and envelopes, rhinestone buckles, ribbon, double-sided tape, several ink cartridges, envelope labels, and the time to print and put them together, I would have come out much cheaper ordering them. Of course on the flip side though, my invitations were truly customized and uniques and I got compliments from everyone.

I do know a girl that bought the invitation kit from Target and went a much simpler route. So, again, it's really want to put a lot into the invitations like I id, or if you want something fast and easy.

Keep us posted!!!

I would then suggest you go to Vistaprint.com. You could play around with different things in there and if you play your cards right, you may only have to pay for shipping and handling as their promotions are free to a certain number.

If you're DIY challenged, then vistaprint is the venue for you to play around with.

Good luck to you sister.
